If you have an account with Astha broker, buy and sell orders in Equities can be placed in the following way.

Also note that to trade in derivatives (options, futures) or commodities, one needs to activate these segments separately by submitting respective forms to Astha.

In this article, we will see how to place Buy or Sell orders on Astha Broker’s Website.

RL – Regular Lot Order with Limit and without Stop Loss

RL MKT – Regular Market Order at Market Price without Stop Loss

SL– Stop Loss Order with Limit i.e. One trigger price and one Limit Price need to be set. SL order gets activated for the set Limit price once trigger price is crossed

SL MKT – Stop Loss at Market Price i.e. Stop-loss order gets placed immediately at market price after reaching set trigger price

For e.g.

If the current price of KotakBank stock is 1885 and you want to buy KotakBank stock at (max.)1880 then place an RL order with a Limit price of 1880.

If you want to anyhow buy at the Market price, simply place an ‘RL MKT’ order.

Once this buy order is placed, if you want to have a stop loss at 1850, then place an ‘SL’ order with a trigger at around 1852 and a Limit price in 1850.

If you anyhow want to sell at whatever price at  1850, simply place an ‘SL MKT’ order with the trigger price as 1850. If the stock price falls down to 1850, the sell order at market price gets placed immediately.

Select ‘Intraday’ if you want to trade the stock for the current day only. If you select intraday, you will have to sell this stock before day end else it will be automatically squared-off(sold) by the broker’s system sometime before day end.

Or select ‘CarryForward’ if you want to hold the stock for more than 1 day or for the long term. Here I am selecting Delivery.

Enter the Number of stocks that you want to buy in Qty. ( Quantity) field and then the Price

Stock will then appear in your ‘Stock View’ section.
